I don't hate Bendis as much as the rest of y'all apparently do, but I think this is a good idea. It's clear he's stretched too thin, and this should help, if he doesn't take a million and a half books back in return.
Also, I do think this backs up Nick's theory that the AvX crossover really will finish up the House of M stuff. Maybe Bendis sees this as a natural ending of the story that he's been telling since Disassembled?

i think bendis is a decent writer, i'm just sick of him seemingly writing every new avengers book that gets announced. i thought siege was supposed to be wrapping up his house of m stuff and introduce the next status quo of the heroic age, but we all saw where that went. i think with bendis leaving it does give them the opportunity to finally actually wrap some things up instead of set up the next event. like i said yesterday i'm getting so sick of the set-up event/event/aftermath event structure.

I agree. I don't think the event/aftermath/event formula (I think that's what you meant?) is a good one. And I'll read what comes after if it's reported back as good. But I was never an Avengers kid, I only hopped on Disassembled because it was so epic. I liked it, so I stuck with New Avengers (for longer than I really should have) but I'm not reading any of that shit now. It would take something really cool to get me back into that world. And Bendis leaving...well, it's cool, I'm happy it's happening, but it's certainly not gonna draw me back in just on its own. We'll see what titles get canceled and what get announced and who's gonna write and draw them. I'm on the wait and see train.
