So, Dark Horse announced they're going day and date digital, but for a cheaper price, aka 1-2 bucks off... and some retailers think that's undercutting the local comic shop... is this just the future of comics? will the local shop go the way of the record store? I personally think comic shops offer more for customers than record stores offered their customers. I also think good stores will be able to keep going, and bad stores will suffer... apparently a few shop owners will stop ordering Dark Horse books for the shelf, and only get special orders for customers... www.bleedingcool.com/2011/12/04/comic-stores-stop-ordering-dark-horse-comics-for-the-shelf-over-digital-price-point/

Until EVERYTHING is available via digital, and EVERYONE has a digital device worthy of reading comics (i don't think phones are adequate), there's always going to be a need for comic shops.
