I put the question out to everyone who's on Twitter and already got Dave's answer (I'll let him put up his own reply) but I'm curious as to peoples' top books of the year. As I said to Dave, these could be ongoings, TPBs, or any combination of the two. It doesn't have to be a round number like 5 or 10, it could be whatever you want to do. It doesn't even HAVE to be limited to books from this year. Daytripper came out last year, but the trade came out this year, so it's on my list. There are no rules. I just wanna see what y'all loved. Show me!

my exact email to sanCHEZ:
not really in any particular order, also, i just went up to 10 and stopped, i could probably keep going forever, and i'm sure i'm forgetting a few things, but ya know... these things are always imperfect:
ongoings: locke & key atomic robo scalped unwritten snyder's detective/batman batwoman animal man sixth gun cap & bucky thor the mighty avenger ended in january of 2011, does that count? (yes i'm still sad about it)
ogn/collected editions: walt simonson thor omnibus walt simonson thor artist's edition green river killer habibi the arctic marauder petrograd locke & key vol. 4 100 bullets deluxe book 1 batman: the black mirror parker martini edition

I agree with most of what's on Dave's list (lock & key, unwritten, bat woman) so I'm going for what's stuck out in my mind the most.
Axe Cop (ADD as hell but so unique) Sixth Gun (can't get enough of it) Ultimate Spider man (and specifically the Death of Spiderman, but I'm super stoked on Jamie too) Uncanny X-force and of course (Mike, I'm sorry) Amazing. We got big time and spider island.
As honorable mention I would put: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the new Ultimates.

Uncanny X-Force Fantastic Four (and FF by association) Avengers The Children's Crusade X-Factor (always great) Locke & Key (obviously) Batman (new52) Ultimate Everything Wolverine (his solo book) Wolverine and the X-Men (probably in top 3 favorites) Journey into Mystery Batwoman
Things that had been out, but I just read: Akira All-Star Superman We3 Casanova (so cool) The Umbrella Academy (so good)

if you liked adele blanc sec, you'd have to be crazy to not check out arctic marauder! Damned if I wasn't thinking the same thing my nerdy comrade! I've picked up everything else fantagraphics has put out by Tardi since I'm a fan from way back, but I skipped Arctic Marauder cause my wallets tight going to school and it had a low page count. And then of course last pages of Adele Vol 2 totally hinge on the characters from Arctic...

i haven't read adele vol. 2 yet. the art in arctic marauder is worth it alone, the whole thing is done blockcut style.
